He began his financial services career as a stockbroker with a major Wall Street firm. After two years, he recognized the need for a more comprehensive approach to financial solutions. Moving into the financial planning discipline, he spent the following two years expanding his understanding of a multitude of financial situations and developing creative solutions for his clients. Recognizing the client’s desire and need for total objectivity and flexibility, Dan was an early pioneer in the development of fee as opposed to commission compensation. In 1988 he joined a firm that also operated under this unique arrangement and served as manager of their Virginia Beach office for seven years.
Dan received his designation as a Certified Financial Planner licensee in 1991. He served on the Board of Directors of The Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and was active in its merger with the International Association of Financial Planners, which is now known as the Financial Planning Association. He has appeared as a commentator on WVEC and WAVY television stations and has been associated with WNIS since 1988. Bunting Capital’s show “Dollars and Common Sense” can be heard on 790 AM WNIS the second and fourth Saturday of every month at 9am.
Bunting Capital Management was founded in 1995. After two successful careers, Dan began his retirement December 31st, 2015.
